Nutritional Sciences and Stanford Fellow. Dr. Carughi has a BA in Biology/Ecology and Conservation from Vassar College, a Master of Sciences degree in Human Nutrition from Columbia University, and a PhD in Nutritional Sciences from the University of California at Berkeley.
Dr. Carughi holds the title of Fellow at Stanford University and the title of Certified Nutrition Specialist (C.N.S.) from the American College of Nutrition. She has received the Neizer Fellowship from Stanford University and a National Institute of Health (NIH) research grant in experimental nutrition.
Working with GNLD, she authored a report in 1993: "Plasma Carotenoid Levels Before and After Supplementation With a Carotenoid Complex" and presented it at the New York Academy of Sciences. This article was published in the highly selective American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in April 1994.
Out of concern that much valuable research was not being put to practical use, Dr. Carughi joined GNLD so that her discoveries could help in the development of life-changing products..
